UV Index App

Location Data

Your location is rounded to approximately 10 km before any network request is made. We do not store your precise location.

Analytics & Cookies

This app and website have no analytics, tracking, or cookies of any kind.

Server Logs

Server logs on Railway may contain approximate coordinates as part of API requests. These logs are not actively monitored or shared with third parties and are automatically rotated.

Third-Party Data Sources

UV data is provided by Open-Meteo, a free and open-source weather API. Geocoding uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim. Both services have their own privacy policies.

iPhone, iPad and Mac Apps (ShouldISunscreen)

The apps round your location to about 10 km on your device before using it. That rounded location is sent only to Open-Meteo to get the UV forecast; place names for it come from Apple's geocoding service. Cities you type into search are sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service. Sunrise and sunset times are calculated on your device. The apps do not talk to our servers, have no accounts, and include no analytics, ads, or tracking. Your skin tone setting, the last forecast, and your default city are stored only on your device.
